The village holiday parade is returning this year, as well as our part in it! Friday from 5:15-6:00 pm, the Ballston Spa High School orchestra will be playing in our sanctuary, and the community is welcome. The parade kicks off at 6:30, and you'll find us in front of the church distributing refreshments!
We made an erroneous announcement in worship this morning. The Charge Conference scheduled for this week (via Zoom) will not be held on Tuesday at 7 pm as was stated, but rather on Wednesday at 4 pm. Apologies for the error; contact the office if you need more information. The phone number there is 518-885-6886.
Today is the first Sunday in the season of Advent - this is the Sunday of Hope. The message was titled, “Light in the Darkness,” using John 1:1-14 and Matthew 5:13-16. Music included “Light of Hope” (the first selection from the Christmas Cantata), “Thou Didst Leave Thy Throne,” and “I Want to Walk as a Child of the Light,” presented by the music team; and “Give Thanks,” an organ/piano duet by Cathy King & Carol Markley. You can give securely to the church’s ministries by clicking here. While we didn’t record Sunday’s service, one of our folks did get a video of the bells playing - thanks to the Caswell family. There will be no video for this week's service, but you're more than welcome to join us live at 101 Milton Ave. at 10:30am! Video will return next week.
If you weren't able to be with us on Consecration Sunday, there is still time to make your annual giving commitment to BSUMC. You can return a commitment card at this Sunday's service, or mail one to the office at 101 Milton Ave in Ballston Spa. If you need a card, call the office at 518-885-6886 or email [email protected].
Something to keep in mind for the next week -- and beyond. Remember also the One to whom we are thankful! Sign & photo by Linda Sheeran.
Rev. Steve Butler, who was our guest Sunday, has shared his message with us. It can be read here. Sermons are posted weekly on the Blog tab.
