Good morning! Pastor Kelly's message for this week is titled "Living a Simple Life", based on Luke 12:14-21 and I Timothy 6:6-10,17-19. She also makes a long-awaited announcement.... Music includes "Living for Jesus," sung by Kelly Schmidt; "The Summons," sung by Mark Warner; and "I'm Gonna Live so God Can Use Me," sung by Albert Schmidt. Let us know in the comments if you're singing along!
Our sister Kathy Haege went to be with Jesus earlier this week. The family held a private memorial this afternoon; the church will hold a memorial service at a later date.
Kelly & Albert Schmidt created this music video for the song "El Shaddai" in Kathy's memory.
The text of Pastor Kelly's sermon of February 21 is now posted here. Sermons are posted weekly on the Blog tab.
This week's Ministry Matters, highlighting everything going on in our church community, has been posted here. You can find each week's edition on the Announcements tab under the Calendar and Events heading.
Hello friends, a reminder that the Zoom Bible Study on Women of the Bible will be starting this Wednesday at 7:30 PM, continuing each Wednesday during Lent. It's not too late to let us know you want to participate -- in fact, each week is its own study so you can attend as you are able. This week's topic is "Keturah: A Wise Second Wife". Let us know in the comments if you'd like the link or call Pastor Kelly at 309-3737.
February 17th was Ash Wednesday, marking the start of the holy season of Lent. The Board of Discipleship of our United Methodist Church has come up with a really interesting challenge for churches this year and Pastor Kelly is inviting us all to try this.
Follow this link to find calendar pages naming specific things you have in your home or life. You’re challenged to count up how many you have of each item, then set aside that many coins for the day. You can use whatever change you have on hand. When Easter arrives, we hope we’ll be able to gather again for worship. If so, please join us -- and bring along your joyful, jingling Easter offering!
Good morning! This week Pastor Kelly's message is called, "Surrendered Lives", using Luke 9:57-62. Music includes "Come Away with Me," sung by Mark Warner, and "I Surrender All," sung by Kelly Schmidt with piano by Cathy King. Let us know in the comments if you're singing along! After the benediction, keep watching for Jeremy Camp's music video for his song, "Keep Me in the Moment".
As we enter the season of Lent, here is a brief service of meditation and music, using Scripture from Joel 2 and including the songs "Softly and Tenderly Jesus Is Calling" and "Create in Me a Clean Heart".
In addition to our own service, which will be posted early Wednesday, you may also choose to participate in a live online Ash Wednesday service called "A Night with New Room", presented by a national ministry called Seedbed. The schedule is as follows:
