This is the third Sunday of Advent, the Sunday of Joy. Pastor Kelly’s message was titled, “Wishing You a Mary Christmas,” using Luke 1:26-49. The music team presented “Light of Joy,” incorporating the lighting of the Advent Wreath; “All Earth Is Waiting"; and “Good Christian Friends, Rejoice.” The bells played “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel,” and we celebrated the baptism of Abigayle Grace Adserias. This past Friday we participated in the Holiday Parade event. We hosted the high school orchestra and provided cookies and cocoa. Linda Sheeran shares some photos. Please take a look at this video produced by Spectrum News - your Red Bird Christmas Shoeboxes are on this truck delivered to Beverly, KY. You will see the importance of what you shared with the people there. Thank you for your help in sharing with our neighbors just over the hills. One of our local TV stations, WNYT (channel 13) does a series on their newscasts called "We Salute You," brief profiles of local veterans. On Tuesday, December 7 (the 80th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor), the featured veteran will be our own Bob Elbertson. Be sure to tune in for the 5, 5:30, 6, or 11 PM newscast to see Bob's story! For the second Sunday of Advent - the Sunday of Peace - Pastor Kelly returned with a message titled, “Christmas Through the Eyes of the Innkeeper,” using Isaiah 9:2,6,7 and Luke 2:1-7. The music team presented “Light of Peace “, incorporating the lighting of the Advent Wreath, and “Here Is Bread, Here Is Wine”; Cathy King & Carol Markley shared a piano/organ duet titled, “O Come All Ye Faithful/Sheep May Safely Graze“.
