This morning we celebrated Heritage Sunday, which recognizes John Wesley, the founder of Methodism. Today there are many strains of Methodism, of which perhaps the most prominent (especially in the US) is the United Methodist Church.
Below are just a few of Wesley's more notable sayings, many of which still influence Methodist thought today.
This morning we celebrated Heritage Sunday, with Pastor Kelly's message, "Stand Firm in the Faith", recalling the founder of Methodism, John Wesley. The Scriptures were Hebrews 4:12-13; Mark 8:34-38; and Hebrews 10:22a,23-25. Hymns were "O, For a Thousand Tongues" and "Christ, Whose Glory Fills the Skies", both written by Charles Wesley.

This is another video we used in this morning's service to underscore our theme of Worship. This time it's Michael W. Smith's version of "The Heart of Worship". We used a couple of videos in worship this morning to underscore our theme of Worship. This one is a version of "Give Thanks" that incorporates Hebrew. This morning we celebrated Mother's Day as well as Holy Communion. Pastor Kelly's message, "Come Close, I'll Tell You What God Has Done for Me," was based on Psalm 66:8-20 and Acts 17:22-31. Music included "For the Beauty of the Earth," "I Was There to Hear Your Borning Cry," and "Let Us Break Bread Together," as we welcomed pianist Isabelle Layer.
